Our story

We’ve developed relationships with the most trusted names in sports. From Leagues & Federations to Clubs & Teams, TRACAB’s portfolio delivers valuable, real-time data to improve team performance, and keep fans engaged. From these earliest of times, we adopted the tag-line of “Unlocking the DNA of Sport” and this still holds true to this day. Our technology is used on some of the largest tournaments on the planet, by some of the biggest names in sport, to deliver value and innovation that is well recognised as being market leading. With installations spanning many hundreds of arenas and teams, we pride ourselves on an unrelenting focus on accuracy and quality, as well as the delivery of content to power an ever expanding range of applications and stakeholders in sport.

OUR TEAM

Stefan Balk

Managing director

Stefan has been working in the IT Industry for 20+ years and the last 12 years with Tracab. Stefan has been a key member of the engineering team during the years. His first role within Tracab was as a lead engineer for one of the TRACAB R&D teams that evolved into a broader managing role for multiple R&D teams. Stefan has a deep understanding of the technology but has also been existential in working with strategic customers to make sure the TRACAB technology can be successfully deployed globally. During the last years his focus has been on a more strategic level with managing dev teams and technology globally for the company as VP of engineering and most.    

Ian Wray

Sales, TRACAB

With a career spent focused on delivering disruptive, leading-edge technologies across a variety of industries, Ian has spent over 10 years at the company in a number of senior sales leadership roles. After initially establishing several offices to underpin his success in growing the company’s broadcast business, his more recent focus has been in developing the Tracab business with leading sports organisations across the globe. Through the creation of new, innovative applications for the data and video content delivered by Tracab, he is helping a growing range of stakeholders to capitalise on the increasing value that can be achieved by this game changing technology.
   

David Eccles

Sales, Coach Paint

David has been working in the sports industry for over a decade and brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and leadership to an increasingly competitive marketplace. Having spent 7 years working within the Special Forces of the British Army, his experience helps to bring a unique view of tactical data analysis and the use of video and data to derive intelligence. David often consults at a senior level with blue-chip, Premier League Football Clubs as well as sports organizations all over the world to advance product development while helping clients improve on-field performance through technology.
   

Eric Hayman

Chief Scientist

Eric is an experienced computer vision scientist with an extensive track record in sports technology and broadcast media, having previously spent several years in academia. Having grown up in the UK and Norway, Eric graduated with a PhD from the Robotics Research Group at the University of Oxford in 2000. His thesis concerned object tracking, 3D reconstruction and camera calibration. After completing his thesis he moved to Stockholm, Sweden to work as a postdoctoral research scientist at the Royal Institute.
   

Martin Brogren

R&D Director

Martin joined Tracab in 2007 as an algorithm developer when the company started to build up its own Computer Vision team. He also has experience in algorithm development from other Swedish vision-based companies like Tobii and Axis Communication. He has an MSc in Engineering Physics from Lund Institute of Technology and worked as a Management Consultant at McKinsey & Company before turning back to technology. A couple of years ago Martin took over as Head of Computer Vision and is now leading the R&D organization in his R&D Director position.
